Counseling for Teens & Adolescents in Bozeman, MT
The teenage years can be a lot for your teen and for you. School pressure, friendships, social media, big decisions, and a nervous system that’s still under construction. Some of that is normal growing up. Some of it’s heavier, and a teen who’s anxious, down, angry, or pulling away doesn’t always have the words for it, or want to talk to a parent about it.
nCenter offers teen counseling in Bozeman and virtually across Montana. Teens need a place to be honest and open without being judged, and we help them build the confidence and skills to handle what they’re facing.
Teens come to us for a wide range of things, including:
- Anxiety, depression, and anger
- Low self-esteem, shame, and self-worth
- Trauma, grief, and loss
- Family conflict and communication at home
- School stress and slipping grades
- Friendships, relationships, and social anxiety
- Impulsive or risky behavior, and substance use
- Big mood swings and trouble regulating emotions
- Body image and eating concerns
- ADHD and autism-spectrum support
- Building independence and getting ready for college
If what your teen is facing isn’t on this list, it still counts. Reach out; we’ll talk it through.
Is your teen struggling?
Teen counseling offers a safe and supportive environment to explore feelings, gain self-awareness, and develop emotional resilience.
Some signs counseling could help:
- Pulling away from family and friends
- Grades dropping or ongoing trouble at school
- Mood swings, outbursts, or defiance beyond the usual
- Risky behavior, substance use, or any self-harm concern
- Trouble with boundaries and authority
You know your teen. If your gut says something’s off, it’s worth getting a second perspective.
Meet your teen’s team:
Cortney Duffy, PLCPC
With a focus on anxiety and trauma, Cortney draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT): approaches that help teens name what they’re feeling, understand the different parts of themselves, and loosen the thinking that keeps anxiety and self-doubt going.

Teen counseling across Montana
You do not have to be in Bozeman to work with us. We see teens in person at our Bozeman office and offer secure virtual counseling for teens and families across Montana, so distance, a packed school schedule, or a bad-weather week never has to be the reason your teen skips support.
What to expect
The first step usually starts with a conversation about what is going on and what you and your teen are hoping for. From there we build a plan around your teen, meet them where they are, and adjust as they grow. Parents are supported too. You are not on the outside of this.
Some teens, especially those dealing with focus, ADHD, or anxiety, also benefit from our [neurofeedback and qEEG brain mapping][neurofeedback] alongside counseling. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth considering, with no pressure either way.
Insurance and getting started
We accept many major insurance plans, and our team will help you check your coverage before the first visit. Reaching out does not commit you to anything.
Call (406) 599-2492 if you have questions or to request an appointment. Parenting a teen is hard, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. We’re here to support the whole family!

That’s common, and it doesn’t mean therapy won’t work. Our approach is deliberately low-pressure and judgment-free, which helps skeptical teens settle in. Sometimes the first win is just letting your teen show up without a fight. Give us a call and we can talk through how to approach it.
-
Teens need to trust that therapy is their space, so the specific things they share stay appropriately private. At the same time, we keep you informed at the right level and always loop you in on anything involving safety. You stay a partner in your teen's care.
