nCenter Counseling Services in Montana

A native of suburban Boston, I hold a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from State University of New York and a B.A. in Biophysics from Amherst College. I originally planned a career in science, but changed my focus after discovering an interest in working with people and in understanding my own and others’ psychological functioning.

Early in my career I was employed as a staff psychologist at a center for emotionally and behaviorally disturbed children in upstate New York. I then relocated to the Seattle area, where I established a private practice as a licensed psychologist, serving adults, children and adolescents from a primarily psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral perspective. I left practice after 18 years to focus on my family and be a stay-at-home mother to my young daughter.

Following a move to Montana, I volunteered at the Help Center and completed my training in crisis call intervention and suicide risk assessment. I re-entered practice in 2016 as a licensed clinical professional counselor, and have been providing individual counseling to both adults and children at the nCenter since 2017. In November of 2018 I was licensed as a psychologist in Montana. I no longer see clients for counseling, however I provide psychological assessments to nCenter clients as an aid to diagnosis and treatment planning. In my spare time, I enjoy travel, yoga, reading, gardening, and a variety of indoor and outdoor pursuits.
