Mental Health Counseling in Bozeman, Montana with Sarah Mendonça, PLCPC

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck - aware that something isn’t working, but unsure how to create meaningful change. I view therapy as a starting point. What happens between sessions is where insight is practiced, patterns become clearer, and change begins to take hold. I’m a dual pre-licensed counselor (PCLC, PLAC), and my approach is trauma-informed, somatically grounded, and neurodivergence-affirming. I attend to both cognitive and physiological experiences, recognizing the nervous system’s central role in how we process, respond, and heal.

In our work together, you are in the driver’s seat. My role is to support your process through reflection, curiosity, and clinical guidance as you learn what aligns with your values and direction.

In working with substance use, I move away from one-size-fits-all approaches. Instead, I focus on helping clients explore their relationship with substances with curiosity rather than judgment - understanding the role substances play, their impact, and what changes may feel meaningful and sustainable.

Originally from Brazil, I spent 15 years in corporate life in New York City before relocating to Bozeman to pursue a more meaningful and aligned path. My early work in inner child healing, life coaching, and Reiki—and the relationships I built with clients—ultimately led me to pursue graduate training in counseling at Montana State University. I feel honored to support clients as they begin or continue their own journey toward growth and change.
